Methodology

How records are normalized and published.

Collection and source priority

The current snapshot comes from third-party watch databases, not a systematic manufacturer verification programme. Primary manufacturer evidence should take precedence when available, but we do not claim that every specification has been checked against it.

Normalization and matching

Explicit brand aliases share a canonical identity. Full reference strings, including leading zeros, suffixes and punctuation, are retained. Exact matches are grouped; similar-looking references are not merged.

Collection classification

Existing classifications are retained except for explicit collection aliases. Empty classifications use unambiguous same-brand/reference evidence or the longest existing collection name in the title. Ambiguous records remain unclassified.

Conflicts and validation

The richest source record supplies the main specification table. Conflicting source records remain accessible. Automated checks cover record retention, links, URLs and metadata; they cannot establish the historical accuracy of every source.
